Another part of our highly successful Walking Dead x Hyundai partnership was about car design. My role included art directing and managing several creatives in helping develop the Chop Shop’s Veloster Turbo. Working with GAS studios, we worked for several weeks on a build that would not only debut at San Diego Comic-Con 2014 but also in our nation spots.
In more detail, all the car builds, including the one used in our spot “Speech” were under my creation supervision. Everything from the mounted machine guns, the horde plow, dual flame throwers or the actual rusted tire rims were based around my understandings of Robert Kirkman’s comic book vision.
To be able to manufacture an actual real life zombie survival machine or the Velsoter ZSM was the ultimate evidence of our dedication to authenticity. Fans loved it!
